How does WSET Level 2 in-person WSET course work?Updated 7 hours ago

We offer many course format options for getting WSET certified, so you can choose the option that works for your learning style and budget the best. WSET Level 2 in-person course consists of self-paced online study and 2 days in classroom with an instructor. You get 12 months access to your study materials, which include WSET eBook and a course.

WSET Level 2 In-person Course

  1. Enrolling in Course: You'll receive a purchase confirmation email within minutes of enrolling in an in-person course.

  2. Course Access: Within 30 minutes of enrolling, you'll get an email titled "Important: Access Your Course & Study Materials" with a link to online pre-course study materials. Note: No wine kit is sent for in-person courses

  3. Study Materials and Shipping: Students receive immediate access to eBook within the online course at learn.napavalleywineacademy.com. You may also purchase a hardcopy book as an add-on upon check out or on our website 

  4. Suggested Pre-Study Time: Level 2 is about 11 hours of self-study using the online pre-course and book

  5. What to Bring To In-Person Course:  On the day of your in-person class, come prepared with:

    • Your study materials (if applicable)
    • A valid ID (for exam verification)
    • Notebook & pencils for notes and the exam
    • Lunch is not included at all locations, please refer to he “Great Choice!” email for details
    • Questions! Your instructor is here to help.

  1. Taking the Exam:  WSET Level 1 and Level 2 exams are offered exclusively online starting August 2026. This allows more flexibility and study time after the in-person course. You must register for your online exam within 12 months of your in-person course. 

  2. Exam Grading and Results: Your online exam is graded by WSET in London. Once we receive the results, you’ll receive an email from [email protected] within about 2-4 weeks, for Levels 1 and 2.



WSET Level 2 Exam Info

WSET Level 2 recommended study hours are minimum of 28 hours in order to succeed in the exam. The exam is 50 multiple choice questions within 60 minutes and you need to get 55% correct to pass it. After passing the exam your results and digital badge and certificate will be sent to you by email within about 6-8 weeks of the exam. WSET does not provide further feedback on grading other than the score.

  • Can I skip levels if I have prior knowledge?
    • Yes, especially if you have industry experience or previous wine education, you might consider starting at a higher level. Please, review the Course Specification to determine the right level for you.
