WSET Online Exam: System RequirementsUpdated 2 months ago
To sit a remotely invigilated exam, it is required that devices you intend to use meet the following technical requirements and are set up properly. Watch this video to see how the remotely invigilated exam is taken.
A Primary Device and a Secondary Device are required. Supported devices are listed below including a list of unsupported devices.
💻 PRIMARY DEVICE for taking the exam:
Desktop or laptop computer with one of the Operating Systems
- macOS: X and higher.
- Windows: 8 and higher.
- Linux distributions: 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04+, Debian 8+, openSUSE 13.3+, Fedora Linux 24+
- ChromeOS: requires all browsers and applications to be shut down besides the browser needed to take the exam, in order for the System Check and Exam to function.
- Microsoft Surface Pros: Users should always double-check their specific model. Some Surface Pros run on different operating systems or use ARM-based processors, which might affect compatibility.
Browser: Google Chrome (latest version).
Webcam: Maximum resolution of 1280 x 720.
Internal Microphone and Audio Required.
Screen Resolution: 1280 x 768 pixels, or higher.
DEVICES NOT SUPPORTED AS PRIMARY DEVICE: Tablets such as Android tablets Nexus 7, etc. and iOS tablets iPad, iPad mini, etc.
📱SECONDARY DEVICE for recording you in the exam room:
Mobile Device or Tablet: You will need a mobile device or tablet on which you will download the ProctorExam app
- Android Device Specification: 8 or Higher
- iOS (Apple) Device Software Version: 15.8 or higher. *iPhone 17 / 17 Pro / 17 Pro Max Require update to 26.0.1
- DEVICES NOT SUPPORTED: Huawei, Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), and Google Pixel 3’s are not supported as secondary devices.
